Although the records date back to the 16th century, just from the year 1783 are known references to the residence of a family member Soares, Joao Soares, who have married and lived\u00a0there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the civil war between Pedro and Miguel, in 1832, Pedro IV closed all convents, appropriating all the goods of the monasteries. It was then that the January 13th, 1840, Bernardo Soares, son of Jo\u00e3o Soares, have acquired the land and the house, which would be known, until today, as Casa\u00a0Soares. Home where lived five generations and where, in June 1906, was born Sebasti\u00e3o Soares de Resende, first Bishop of Beira (Mozambique).
