With records in the year of 1717 in Apega\u00e7\u00f5es Book of Convento de Santo Agostinho da Serra de Vila Nova de Gaia, and that some land had been referenced in Tombo Passal Milheir\u00f3s the church in 1544, Casa\u00a0Soares is built in the place\u00a0of Milheir\u00f3s, the Milheir\u00f3s parish of Poiares in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira. Although the records date back to the 16th century, just from the year 1783 are known references to the residence of a family member Soares, Joao Soares, who have married and lived\u00a0there.<\/p>\n
With the civil war between Pedro and Miguel, in 1832, Pedro IV closed all convents, appropriating all the goods of the monasteries. It was then that the January 13th, 1840, Bernardo Soares, son of Jo\u00e3o Soares, have acquired the land and the house, which would be known, until today, as Casa\u00a0Soares. Home where lived five generations and where, in June 1906, was born Sebasti\u00e3o Soares de Resende, first Bishop of Beira (Mozambique). Currently, for family heritage, Casa Soares belongs to the present application promoter that by having lived there and with the knowledge\u00a0of the stories has a strong emotional connection to it, having the strong desire to preserve it.<\/p>\n
